Sanderson Weatherall enhances Asset Based Lending (“ABL”) Services with creation
of division with two senior appointments
We are enhancing our nationwide asset based lending (“ABL”) offering with senior
appointments in Manchester and London.
Partner Christian Humphreys and associate partner Lee Joyce are joining to focus
specifically on valuations against inventory and plant & machinery.
Christian and Lee arrive SHM Smith Hodgkinson where they worked together providing
valuation services against inventory and plant & machinery predominantly to
the ABL community
Christian will head the division from Manchester with Lee based in the London
office of Sanderson Weatherall.
This new division forms part of the wider team at Sanderson Weatherall already
established in the provision of machinery, business asset and property valuations
and services. We see ABL as an increasingly popular type of lending because of
the ongoing lack of other forms of finance for business and a trend towards more
robust secured lending.
Christian says “ABL slowed down in the credit crunch but is proving to be increasingly
popular because other forms of finance continue to be unavailable to business.
“Sanderson Weatherall has an outstanding brand and history and we very much look
forward to focussing on inventory and machinery asset based lending and helping
to enhance the popular brand further with new and existing clients.”
Roy Tubman, partner at the Manchester office, says: “We see the Asset Based Lending
sector as a growing industry and we are very pleased to welcome Christian and
Lee with their particular expertise on board.”
Christian spent 10 years at SHM Smith Hodgkinson and rose through the ranks to
be a director and head of the commercial and industrial division. He provided
valuation and advisory services on inventory and plant and machinery for asset
based lenders, private equity firms and corporate financiers throughout the UK
and mainland Europe and will bring experience and expertise to the same sectors
in his new role at Sanderson Weatherall.
Lee, a senior surveyor at SHM Smith Hodgkinson, joined the firm in 2009 from
Landsbanki Commercial Finance where as a portfolio manager he had a brief to monitor
lending secured against plant and machinery and inventory.
